Music Box
Music Box is the third studio album by American recording artist Mariah Carey. It was released in the second quarter of July 1993 by Sony Music. On this record, the production becomes more pop and adult contemporary leaning, compared to her first two albums which were geared towards gospel and soul.
The album received mixed reviews from critics, who criticised the album for Carey's production and recordings being too lazy and mellow compared to her first and second albums. Despite the mixed reviews, Music Box became one of the best selling albums worldwide, selling over 28 million copies. The album spawned hit singles "Dreamlover", "Hero", "Without You"/Never Forget You" and, U.S. top twenty hit "Anytime You Need A Friend".
